04/11/2008. Vodafone Netherlands announces today the launch of a new version of MobileTV service.

The widget-based MobileTV application offers a mix of numerous live and VoD (“Video on Demand”) channels enhanced with extensive search-powered EPG, reminder, zapping and other exiting features. The superior user experience which combines the leading mobile technology and creative design allows Vodafone subscribers to enjoy personalized video-centric application with specially adopted media content, while on the move.

           

The MobileTV client application is initially launched on 4 mobile handsets, embedded on some new models or downloadable from the Vodofone live! portal. Other handset models will follow soon.

The solution was developed by beeweeb, a technological partner of Vodafone, rewarded for its strong innovative and originally creative approach to software development by supplying one of the world’s largest operator groups.

With the launch of the “PRESIDENZIALI 2008” widget all Vodafone my live! users stay continually updated on USA Presidential Election 2008. On the 20th of October 2008 Vodafone Italia has released a new service that offer a variety of news, surveys, forecasts and rumours around “who’s going to be the new 44th President of US”, available on iPhone 3G or personalized my live! web page.

To access the service and have the live updates on 2008 battle for the White House, the user just need to visit my live! web page and drag and drop PRESIDENZIALI 2008 widget on his web dashboard or just simply open iPhone 3G application and add the widget.

Vodafone my live! is an innovative widget-based web/iPhone solution that allows the user to have all his favourite web services (news, sport, email, social networks, weather and many more) no further than 1 click away. The scandinavian magazine Mobil awarded 3Sweden’s (Hi3G AB) MobilTV service the prize for Best MobileTV Service for 2008.

The award is a result of in depth analysis of the four available mobileTV services on the swedish market from Telenor, Telia, Tele2 and Tre, comparing different aspects of the services like Features, Price and Look&Feel.beeweeb’s designed&developed MobilTV client scores an amazing 12 points (4/4 in all categories), thrashing competition left lagging behind at 8 and 7 points.

The joint efforts of beeweeb and 3Sweden once again receive the best-of-breed international certification, achieved through strict cooperation and down-to-the-last-pixel optimization of the mobile service.

RDS.it, an RDS (national Italian radio station) website, created by beeweeb technologies, becomes available in mobile version. Now all the mobile subscribers possessing a mobile phone with a browser can freely navigate through RDS content, which was optimized for use on any mobile device.
